v1.1.288

Latest
  • New

You can now float an image on screen. Right-click a card in the library and choose Float on screen, or set Double-click in the view options to Float, and the image opens in a small window that stays on top. Drag its edges to resize it, zoom with the wheel, and while zoomed, drag or use the arrow keys to move around. Ctrl+C copies the original image and Ctrl+W closes the window. Double-click can also be set to open the viewer or the editor.

  • New

The image editor gains a Size slider that scales the selected object around its center. Hover a blue handle or a line endpoint and press the arrow keys to resize step by step in that direction. The mouse Back and Forward buttons now undo and redo while editing. Ctrl+V pastes an image from the Windows clipboard straight onto the canvas (pasting images is a Pro feature).

  • Improved

Text handling has been reworked. New text is sized relative to the app window, and once you change the size, the next text keeps it. The background is now off by default, and you can edit the text of a selected object in the right panel. The crop frame reopens at the same area for images of the same size.

  • Improved

The settings screen is now split into tabs. The vault can lock itself after the PC has been idle for a set time (creating a vault is a Pro feature). Color adjustments gain Last used and Favorites, and unsaved guide drafts survive a restart.

  • Improved

Scrolling capture no longer trims a navigation column fixed to the left or right of the page. The result keeps the width you selected, and the fixed column appears once at the top. In a narrow window the editor's top bar slides sideways, and tool tooltips are no longer cut off at the right edge.

  • Fix

Fixed several capture and image editor issues, including delete confirmations stacking up, masks remaining visible outside a crop, a blank white canvas after Revert all following a very small crop, repeated drags from the quick tray producing the same file name, and the viewer opening behind the app when double-clicked. Plus minor fixes and stability improvements.

Changes from v1.1.229 to v1.1.287 are included here.

v1.1.228

  • New

The image editor's right panel now has a Home view. It appears when no tool or object is selected, and rotate and flip apply as soon as you press the button. Under Frequently used, right-click a tool on the toolbar or a kind button in the right panel to add it, and drag to reorder. New shortcuts rotate the image 90° right with Ctrl+R and 90° left with Ctrl+Shift+R. Your saved macros and recent tools are also listed here. While a tool is active, the Home button at the top of the panel takes you back.

  • New

Masks gain a Frosted glass effect. It shifts the picture in fine ripples, as if seen through clouded glass, and suits places you want to tone down while keeping the mood. Adjust it with two sliders, strength and opacity; it looks the same whatever the size of the photo. To make text truly unreadable, keep using blur or mosaic.

  • New

The image editor now has smart guides. While you drag an object, it snaps where it lines up with the edges or center of other objects or of the image, and pink dashed lines show what is aligned. Hold Ctrl to move without snapping, or turn Snap off on the toolbar. Hold Shift while dragging to move along one axis only.

  • Improved

The Combine screen's overlap order gains Trim both, which trims half the overlap from each side so neither image sits on top. Combined images are now saved directly in the save folder instead of the processed folder. Same area as last time now also remembers the area of a window capture taken just before. In batch rename, the hover preview is larger, and the drop line is visible even at the very top and bottom when you drag to reorder. .jfif and .jpe files are treated as images.

  • Fix

Fixed several capture and image editor issues, including the screen-edge launcher's grip appearing in screenshots, a circular blur overhanging the image corner being pulled back inside when pasted, the image appearing slightly enlarged after spot healing, an unsaved-changes prompt on Esc right after moving to the next image in continuous editing, the main window being placed off screen and not opening from the taskbar, and the capture screen staying black after a GPU driver reset. Minor fixes and stability improvements.

Changes from v1.1.177 to v1.1.227 are included here.

v1.1.176

  • New

The Snippets tab in the clipboard popup can now be browsed by group. It first shows your groups; press a key or Enter to open one and see the snippets inside, and press Backspace or Esc to go back. Change the order of the groups on the Snippets screen under Popup order → Group order by dragging, and drag snippets to reorder them within a group. Keeping text and image generation prompts in separate groups makes them quick to find. A header button switches back to the single list of all snippets. If you only have one group, the single list is shown as before.

  • Improved

The tray icon's right-click menu has been redesigned. Capture types are grouped under Capture, and new items let you capture the full screen, copy or open your latest screenshot, open the save folder, check for updates and restart the app. Under Toggles you can turn hotkeys, clipboard history recording, the Quick Tray, the screen-edge launcher, start with Windows and more on or off right there. Turning hotkeys off also pauses PrintScreen and the Ctrl double-tap. You can also choose what a left click on the tray icon does in Settings → Behavior.

  • Improved

The Settings screen now has a table of contents on the left. Click a heading to jump to that section. The timed-capture countdown now appears at the bottom center of the monitor your mouse cursor is on.

  • Fix

Fixed several display and installation issues, including the timed-capture countdown not appearing or showing up at the edge of the screen, the default theme color flashing briefly at startup, the taskbar pin being removed when installing a new version over the old one, and images dragged out of the Quick Tray being saved as PNG instead of your chosen format. With device sync, tidying up many screenshots at once on one device is now much less likely to pause syncing on the other. This works once both devices are on this version or later. Minor fixes and stability improvements.

Changes from v1.1.155 to v1.1.175 are included here.

v1.1.154

  • Improved

The Combine screen now opens with your previous settings. Layout, margins, background, output folder, file format and quality are kept even after restarting the app. The default file format is now "Same as original", which saves in the same format as the source images.

  • Fix

Fixed several image editor issues, including the editor not moving to the next image after deleting one, the cursor not returning to a crosshair after some actions, and arrow keys not adjusting sliders after clicking a checkbox.

  • Fix

Fixed an issue where batch renaming in a subfolder such as "processed" moved the files to the top of the save folder. Only the names change now, and the files stay in their original folder. Minor fixes and optimizations.

v1.1.153

  • Improved

The app icon now uses a new logo designed for Capture Core. The taskbar, system tray and installer icons use it too.

  • Fix

Fixed several capture issues, including captures ending right after they started or while you were still selecting an area. Minor fixes and optimizations.

Changes from v1.1.148 to v1.1.152 are included here.

v1.1.147

  • New

You can now freely reorder how text snippets appear in the clipboard popup, regardless of their group. Open Popup order on the Text snippets screen and drag items or move them with ↑↓. When you have more than 36 snippets, they are split into pages, and keys 1–0 and a–z work on every page. Move between pages with ↑↓ or PageUp/PageDown.

  • Improved

When a confirmation dialog appears, the cursor now moves onto the focused button. Confirmations that cannot be undone, such as deleting, open with Cancel selected, so pressing Enter right away does nothing. In the image editor, a single Esc now returns you to the library (you are asked first if there are unsaved changes), and you can zoom with the wheel while picking a color with the eyedropper.

  • Fix

Fixed several issues in the image editor and the screen-edge launcher, including the image switching while you rotate an element with a left-hand device, an unsaved-changes prompt appearing when nothing visible had changed, the image staying dimmed after pasting during a crop, and the launcher appearing in the wrong place on setups with monitors at different scaling. Minor fixes and stability improvements.

v1.1.144 to v1.1.146 were internal builds; their changes are included here.

v1.1.143

  • New

Scroll capture now keeps going on pages that load more content as you scroll down, such as news sites. A new Save up to here button lets you stop partway and keep what has been captured (Cancel ends without saving). The width panel shown after you select an area, and the status shown while capturing, now appear next to the corner where you finished dragging, so you barely need to move the mouse.

  • Improved

Settings are now split into sections (Startup and window, After a capture, Capture cues, Region selection, Timer capture, Scrolling capture, Edge launcher and Capture method) so each option is easier to find. A clear note explains that only one of the Quick Tray and the thumbnail appears. Batch rename can now also be run with Enter in a text field or with Ctrl+S.

  • Fix

Fixed the Quick Tray and the screen-edge launcher appearing in captured images, and the image editor deleting or clearing without showing a confirmation first. Minor fixes and stability improvements.

v1.1.135 to v1.1.142 were internal builds; their changes are included here.

v1.1.134

  • Fix

Fixed the post-capture thumbnail and the screen-edge launcher showing up as black boxes in screen recorders and VR desktop views, and small shapes drawn while zoomed in disappearing the moment you release the mouse. Minor fixes and stability improvements.

v1.1.133 was an internal build; its changes are included here.

v1.1.132

  • New

Batch processing now shows a preview before you run it. Thumbnails line the top, and the center shows the image with your color adjustments, crop and rotation applied. Hold Compare to see the original, and use the wheel to zoom. The new crop trims a set number of pixels from each edge. Shift-click and Ctrl-click select several images at once.

  • Improved

When you paste a copied element into another image or apply a macro, it now lands where it was on screen when you copied it, at the same apparent size. Pasting into an image of a different size no longer drops it outside the image where you can't grab it. Saving a macro under an existing name now overwrites it.

  • Improved

Scroll capture now reaches the end of very long pages. On pages that load images as you scroll, it waits for them to appear, so blank boxes no longer stand in for photos and sections or the page footer are no longer cut off. Images too tall to open in the image editor now show a notice explaining why.

  • Fix

Fixed the library and batch processing slowing down or becoming unusable in folders with many photos, and file name search returning nothing in Pro. Capture Core now checks for updates once a day while it keeps running. Minor fixes and stability improvements.

v1.1.119 to v1.1.131 were internal builds; their changes are included here.

v1.1.118

  • New

Arrows and lines can be reshaped after you draw them. Select one and handles appear at both ends and in the middle: drag an end to change the direction and length, drag the middle to bend it. Hold Shift while moving an end to snap in 45° steps. Three arrowhead styles were added: tapered, tapered outlined, and a large vee.

  • New

In-app shortcuts for the image editor, the library and the batch tools can now be changed from the shortcut list (F1). Click a key, then press the new one. A key already used by another action or by a global hotkey is not assigned; the list points you to the row that has it. A button at the top of the list restores every default.

  • Improved

Batch processing and bulk rename can now work on a subfolder inside the save folder, such as processed. The same folder switch as the library and the combine screen is in the sidebar.

  • Fix

Fixed the first capture right after launch sometimes coming out completely black, and sliders jumping back to the far left when moved quickly. Minor fixes and stability improvements.

v1.1.115 to v1.1.117 were internal builds; their changes are included here.

v1.1.114

  • Fix

Fixed a defect where applying one effect over another erased what you had already committed. Blurring the whole image and then turning it monochrome used to wipe out the blur along with any arrows and text. Layers now stay in the order you applied them.

  • Improved

The installer and the first launch now appear in English on English systems. Until now the installer and its license summary were Japanese-only, so Capture Core started in Japanese even on an English copy of Windows. Japanese systems are unchanged.

  • Fix

Fixed the message shown when Print Screen is switched over to Capture Core. It pointed at a button that is not on the Settings screen at that moment, so there was no way to find how to change it back.

v1.1.113

  • Improved

Right-click the thumbnail that appears after a capture to copy its file path, copy the image, or show it in the folder. The library's right-click menu can copy a file path too, so pasting a path into a chat or a note no longer means digging through folders.

  • Fix

    Minor issues have been fixed.

v1.1.111 and v1.1.112 were internal builds; their changes are included here.

v1.1.110

  • New

The image editor now has "Save as…" and "Save to a folder…", next to the Save button. Neither one overwrites the original, so keeping the untouched file takes no extra steps. Save as… also opens with Ctrl+Shift+S.

  • Improved

While you drag a blur or mosaic, it now shows the picture underneath its current position. Until now it carried the pixels from where you grabbed it and only switched when you let go.

  • Improved

Hover a shape or a blur and nudge it with the arrow keys — 1px per press, or 10px with Shift. The pointer follows the element (and the rotate handle), so holding the key down keeps working.

  • Improved

Editing options are now remembered until you quit the app, so a round blur and a square fill stay that way when you switch between them. In continuous editing the crop frame keeps its size and ratio on the next image, which makes cropping the same spot in a row quick.

  • Fix

A number of issues around the image editor have been fixed and it is steadier overall — among them the screen staying dimmed when a macro was applied mid-crop, blurs that hang outside the image being impossible to grab, and tool names running outside their buttons in English. Edited pictures also appear right away when you return to the library.

v1.1.105 through v1.1.109 were interim builds (v1.1.109 was public briefly the same day); their changes are included here.

v1.1.104

  • Fix

A number of minor issues have been fixed.

v1.1.100 through v1.1.103 were internal builds; their changes are included here.

v1.1.99

  • New

AVIF and JPEG XL images can now be opened. They work like any other format — listed in the library, edited, batch-processed and combined — so files from cameras, phones and the web can be used as they are, without converting them first. (Saving to these two formats is not supported; edits are written as PNG, JPG or another existing format.)

  • Improved

When a Pro trial ends, Capture Core now tells you. Previously the Pro features simply stopped working with no explanation.

  • Fix

    Minor fixes and stability improvements.

v1.1.91 through v1.1.98 were internal builds; their changes are included here.

v1.1.90

  • Improved

A double tap of a modifier key (Ctrl twice, for example) now works while an app running as administrator is in front — installers, system tools, and the like. Until now it responded everywhere except those windows. Assign a capture to the double tap and you can start a capture from there too.

  • Improved

When another resident app has already claimed the same double tap, Capture Core now tells you which hotkey works in that window instead. You can turn the reminder off in settings.

  • Fix

    Minor fixes and stability improvements.

v1.1.88 and v1.1.89 were internal builds; their changes are included here.

v1.1.87

  • New

Added Spot Heal and Spot Remove to the image editor (Pro). Brush over what you want gone — or select an area and apply — and it blends into the surrounding texture and color. Use Heal for blemishes in photos and Remove for unwanted objects such as notifications or the pointer in screenshots. Leave nearby edges and outlines slightly uncovered and the shapes continue cleanly.

  • Improved

Batch processing and Combine now display and export portrait photos from phones and cameras in the correct orientation — some were previously treated as landscape. Rotation in batch processing now includes a live preview of the result.

  • Improved

Small usability touches: the edit board gained a Select all button, and the progress bar in batch processing, Combine and batch rename no longer shifts the layout while it runs.

v1.1.81 through v1.1.86 were internal builds rolled up into this release. It also stops text and buttons in the app from being highlighted when you drag across them.

v1.1.80

  • New

Added a saved-colors palette to the image editor. Save as many colors as you like and reuse the same palette in every color picker — text, outlines, fills and the rest. Colors can be reordered or removed, recently used colors can be promoted into the palette, and the palette can be shared between paired devices (Pro cross-device sync).

  • Improved

The eyedropper now works, and has a new look. Press the eyedropper button and the cursor turns into a pipette; while the mouse button is held, a color ring follows the cursor — the top half shows the color under the cursor and the bottom half your current one. You can sample colors from anywhere on screen, including outside Capture Core.

  • New

Added keyword search to Settings. Type in the search box at the top to narrow the page down to the matching items (Ctrl+F jumps to the box). Full-width vs. half-width and katakana vs. hiragana differences are handled for you.

  • Fix

Bundled display fixes, improving stability — including the region-selection frame briefly flashing at startup or after waking from sleep, and the pointer being unable to reach the top of the screen on the first region selection after a long idle period.

v1.1.73 through v1.1.79 were internal builds rolled up into this release. It also includes a fix for the clipboard popup opening on a double-tapped modifier even when the popup was switched off, the cross-device sharing options (snippets and saved colors) being grouped under the sync section, and revised wording for the DeepL free-tier limits.

v1.1.72

  • Fix

Fixed an issue where applying a crop in the image editor could leave the view unchanged at the original size. Selecting an area and pressing Enter (or the Crop button) now switches the view to that area as expected.

v1.1.71

  • Fix

Sequential file names (Screenshot_01, 02…) are now determined solely by the files present in the save folder. With cross-device sync (Pro), numbering could continue from an earlier number (for example Screenshot_30) even after the folder had been emptied; this is resolved. Renaming a file back to the name of a previously deleted one now goes through as well.

  • Fix

Fixed an issue where, on the first region selection after startup, the crosshair could stop following the pointer near the top of the screen and the bottom-right magnifier could fail to appear. This was most likely on multi-monitor setups.

v1.1.69 and v1.1.70 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.68

  • Improved

In the editor, an inserted image or shape that extends well beyond the base image now keeps its frame and resize handles visible as long as they are on screen — previously the frame was cut off just past the image edge, so you could not resize from the overhanging side. Clicking an element also switches the toolbar highlight to that element’s type (image, number, text, and so on).

  • Improved

The editor’s navigator (the small map shown at the bottom-left while zoomed in) has a cleaner new look. Hover over it and press the arrow keys to move the view — hold Shift for larger steps.

  • Improved

Cross-device clipboard sync (Pro): clips arriving from your other device are now picked up right away even when the Windows app has been sitting idle in the background — previously they could wait until you interacted with the window or tray.

  • Fix

Bundled display fixes, improving stability — including notification toasts keeping a black square background after a graphics-driver recovery (the brief screen blackout).

v1.1.63 through v1.1.67 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.62

  • New

The clipboard popup now has a right-click menu: paste, copy only, pin, or remove a history item on the spot — snippets get paste / copy-only too.

  • Improved

Improved the mass-deletion safeguard in device sync (Pro). Choosing Restore or Approve in the confirmation dialog no longer risks leaving sync stalled, and changes that piled up on the other device while sync was paused no longer re-trigger the warning right after you confirm.

  • Improved

Cross-device clipboard sync is much faster — a copy now reaches your other devices in about a second instead of up to ten.

  • Improved

While browsing a subfolder in the library (e.g. a batch-output folder), a banner now shows which folder you are viewing with a one-click “Back to root” — and reminds you that new captures still land in the root folder.

  • Fix

Bundled fixes across the editor and smart rename, improving stability — including new blur regions inheriting “invert” after an inverted selection (blurring almost the whole image), and player-linked rename picking up another instance when several media players are open.

v1.1.60 and v1.1.61 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.59

  • New

Region select can now crop. Draw a rectangle, ellipse, or lasso and cut out just that area — everything outside becomes transparent, so saving as PNG or WebP gives you a ready-made cutout. Flip to invert and you punch the selection out instead.

  • New

Added a Feather slider to blur, mosaic, solid fill, greyscale, recolor, transparency and region select. Soften the edge of an effect so a redacted area blends in instead of sitting there as a hard rectangle — it shapes the edge of a crop too.

  • Improved

Transparent areas in the editor — from a cutout or background removal — now show as a checkerboard, so you can tell at a glance whether an area is painted dark or actually transparent. The pattern never appears in saved or copied images.

  • Improved

After waking from sleep, the screen-edge launcher could show up in the wrong place. It now returns to its correct position on its own — previously it stayed misplaced until you hovered over it.

  • Fix

Bundled fixes across the editor, improving stability — including a case where dragging a mosaic (or any element) past the edge of the image left its delete button off-screen and unclickable.

v1.1.51 through v1.1.58 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.50

  • New

Color adjustments got a big upgrade: new Clarity and Sharpen sliders, plus range controls for “Lift shadows / Recover highlights” — you choose how deep into the tones each one reaches, and even 100% never breaks the gradation. The HDR toggle also starts at a gentler default now.

  • New

Added an eyedropper: wherever you pick a color, you can now sample it from the image you are editing — or from anywhere on your screen.

  • New

The [ and ] keys now adjust brush / outline thickness, blur strength, and text / number size (hold Shift for bigger steps) — handy for stream-deck style macro pads, no mouse needed.

  • Fix

Bundled fixes across the editor and clipboard sync: blur/mosaic regions crossing the image edge now apply fully to the edge, pasting an overhanging element onto the next image keeps its position, and re-copying a previously copied text now syncs to your other devices again.

v1.1.46 through v1.1.49 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.45

  • Improved

The how-to maker now opens “PDF (print)” in its own window. You can keep using the app while the print preview is open, and the save dialog now pre-fills the file name with your how-to’s title.

  • Fix

Bundled fixes around saving PDFs, improving stability — including a case where cancelling “Save as PDF” could leave the screen unresponsive.

  • New

The installer now shows a summary of the license terms. The free edition is for personal, private use; Pro covers use for work (see the license page for details).

v1.1.37 through v1.1.44 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.36

  • Fix

Fixed spotlights in the image editor: with two or more spotlights, every highlighted area now keeps its original brightness — even when they overlap. Adjusting the darkness of any spotlight now updates the whole dimming layer consistently.

v1.1.30 through v1.1.35 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.29

  • Improved

The edge launcher now hides itself while you are selecting a region, so you can start a selection even where the launcher sits (it comes back when the selection ends).

  • Fix

Bundled fixes around the library and confirmation dialogs, improving overall stability: new captures could fail to appear in the list, and confirmation dialogs (e.g. for bulk delete) could fail to open.

v1.1.22 through v1.1.28 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.21

  • New

Scrolling capture gains a fast mode. On supported apps — including the major browsers — the page is captured in quick jumps, finishing in a fraction of the previous time. Unsupported apps automatically fall back to the classic method, so nothing changes in how you use it (it can also be turned off in Settings).

  • New

Scrolling capture now starts from the top of the page instead of wherever you happen to be. Before capturing, the page is swept once end-to-end so lazy-loaded images and scroll-triggered animations settle first, which also makes stitching more reliable. Prefer the old capture-from-here behaviour? A setting brings it back.

  • Improved

Stitching in scrolling capture is much improved: a page’s sticky header appears exactly once at the top, fixed bottom bars no longer bleed into the seams, and duplicated sections or captures that stopped partway are gone. Pages with heavy scroll animations or late-loading images now come out as one clean image.

  • Improved

Updating is easier: run the installer while the app is still running and it hands over quietly on its own — no need to close anything first.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

v1.1.3 through v1.1.20 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.1.2

  • New

The app is now available in English. A new 言語 / Language option in Settings switches the whole interface on the spot — no restart needed. The default stays Japanese, so updating alone never changes what you see.

  • Improved

While a drawing tool is active, dragging now always draws — existing elements are picked up by clicking them first, so stacking a second arrow or mask over a busy image no longer grabs what is already there (outside drawing tools, drag-to-move works as before).

  • Improved

The Insert-image button in the editor no longer stalls waiting for a sleeping external drive to spin up — the file picker opens right away, and the button now shows when it is busy.

  • Fix

A batch of interaction fixes: double-tap Ctrl shortcuts now work from left-hand devices such as TourBox, the edge launcher no longer sticks open when the pointer brushes past it (and shows up reliably right after startup), and text selection while renaming a file is clearly visible again.

v1.1.0 and v1.1.1 were internal builds rolled up into this release.

v1.0.99

  • Improved

Scrolling capture now works on secondary monitors, including portrait displays.

  • Fix

Fixed scrolling capture failing on multi-monitor setups: depending on the monitor arrangement, the page would not scroll and the saved image just repeated the same content. A safeguard now also prevents a failed session from stitching the same frame over and over.

v1.0.98

  • New

Images can now overlap when you combine them. Set how far neighbours bite into each other with the new overlap slider, and choose which of the two sits in front (works for vertical, horizontal and tiled layouts). Saving a combined image is a Pro feature.

  • New

The combine screen can now switch which folder it lists. Your picks stay selected across the switch, so you can mix images from your capture folder and the "processed" output folder into a single combined image.

  • Improved

The combine preview can now be zoomed. The wheel zooms toward the pointer, dragging pans while zoomed in, and "fit" brings the whole result back into view.

  • Improved

Every slider in the app can now be nudged with the left/right arrow keys while the pointer rests on it (hold Shift for larger steps). The bars themselves are easier to grab, and each one takes a typed value or resets to its default on double-click.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

Updates v1.0.91–v1.0.97 are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.90

  • Improved

Zooming in the image editor now pivots on the mouse pointer, so the spot you were looking at stays under the cursor as you zoom in — much easier for fine annotation and alignment. (The zoom buttons, the slider and Ctrl +/- still pivot on the center of the view.)

  • Fix

Fixed an issue where the mouse pointer could stay confined to part of the screen after a region selection, leaving everything outside it unclickable. It happened when selecting while holding the "keep selection inside the window" key (Shift by default). The pointer is now always released when the selection ends, with a watchdog as a second line of defense.

  • Fix

Fixed a flash on Windows sign-in, where a plain window or the region-selection screen could briefly appear before Capture Core settled into the tray.

  • Fix

Fixed a batch of capture and editor issues: a screenshot taken while the window was minimized could be missing from the library at first, and the right-click menu in the editor could be cut off near the edge of the screen.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

Updates v1.0.85–v1.0.89 are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.84

  • New

The clipboard-history popup can now be resized and moved by dragging. Click the small lamp at the right end of its header to enter resize mode, then drag the panel edges or corner. The size is remembered for next time, and while resize mode is on the popup no longer closes by itself, so you can settle on a position and size calmly (Esc always closes it).

  • New

Added settings for the popup corner radius and for whether the full-text tooltip is shown (Settings → Clipboard).

  • Fix

Fixed a batch of popup display issues: it could flash at the wrong position before moving into place, something resembling a plain window could briefly appear while dragging, and a dark focus ring could remain on a button. Dragging and resizing are also smoother now.

  • Fix

Fixed an issue where the "start quietly in the tray" option could be ignored on Windows sign-in, leaving the window visible.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

Updates v1.0.68–v1.0.83 are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.67

  • New

Added circle and freehand crop shapes to the image editor. The area outside the shape becomes transparent (kept when saving as PNG; filled with white when saving as JPG).

  • Improved

Resize handles and the rotate/delete buttons now stay fully visible and grabbable even at the very edge of the image. The rotate/delete buttons also gained a larger click target.

  • Improved

Right after resizing, the image is shown at 100% so the new size is obvious at a glance. Editor margins were also tightened so the image itself gets more room.

  • Fix

Fixed a batch of cropping issues, including the aspect-locked crop drifting away from the chosen ratio when resized at the image edge or via the side handles.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

Updates v1.0.62–v1.0.66 are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.61

  • Fix

Fixed an issue where a freshly captured screenshot could fail to appear in the library right away. Captures now show up in the list immediately, regardless of the window state.

  • Improved

Auto-start on Windows sign-in now uses a second, independent launch mechanism for extra reliability.

  • Improved

Added guidance in Settings about a Windows limitation: while an app running as administrator has focus, the bare PrintScreen key cannot reach Capture Core. Combinations such as Shift+PrintScreen keep working.

  • Fix

The device-sync settings now show the exact shared-folder name and ID that appear on the other device, matching what you actually see there.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

The v1.0.60 update is consolidated into this version.

v1.0.59

  • Improved

When dragging multiple images out of the library, files now flow continuously from the image you grabbed, following the on-screen order — even when you grab from the end of the list.

  • Fix

Fixed a set of issues following monitor configuration changes (power off/on, cable swaps): the app could rarely become unresponsive, the crosshair and selection UI could fail to appear on the next region capture, and the screen-edge launcher could stay hidden.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

The v1.0.57–1.0.58 updates are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.56

  • Improved

While the window is maximized, the title-bar maximize button now switches to a "restore" state.

  • Improved

When dragging multiple images out of the library, the image you grab now comes first — the same order Explorer uses, so the receiving app starts with the file you picked.

  • Fix

Fixed a set of display issues with the clipboard popup: it could appear shrunken on multi-monitor setups with different scaling, and the tooltip could render incorrectly on its first display.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

The v1.0.50–1.0.55 updates are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.49

  • Improved

The screen now freezes while you select a region: it stops at the instant you trigger the capture, so you can calmly pick the exact moment even on moving content like videos (the previous live view is still available in settings).

  • Improved

Made library folders easier to work with: images dropped onto the folder you are viewing are imported into that folder, folders are switched from a dropdown, and dragging multiple images out now keeps the same order as Explorer.

  • Improved

Improved library thumbnails: they render more sharply on high-DPI displays, and the hover text stays readable over bright images.

  • Fix

Fixed an issue where the screenshot view could appear black after swapping monitors or changing the display setup. Configuration changes are now detected automatically and the display recovers on its own.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

The v1.0.42–1.0.48 updates are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.41

  • Improved

Added publisher information (a digital signature) to the app. The "unknown publisher" prompt on install is gone, and security warnings during download and installation are reduced.

  • New

Added a "single-image edit" mode to the edit board: drop an image and it opens straight in the editor so you can check its contents and details on the spot. While editing, Shift+drop another image to switch to editing that one (a normal drop still places the image as an overlay, as before).

  • Improved

A normal region screenshot now captures the screen at the instant you release the mouse button, so it matches what you see even while a video is playing.

  • Improved

The library can now browse and edit the output folders of batch processing and image joining (such as the "processed" folder) directly.

  • Fix

Fixed several issues around the image editor and improved stability.

The v1.0.38–1.0.40 updates are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.37

  • New

Press F1 to open the shortcut reference. You can change hotkeys right there, not just view them.

  • Improved

Scrolling capture now has a default shortcut (Shift+PrtSc). Timer capture and "show window" can now be assigned hotkeys too.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

v1.0.36

  • Fix

Fixed a range of issues with scrolling capture and made it more reliable — including captures not reaching the bottom of the page when a width was specified, and failures when starting from the middle of a page.

  • Improved

Added an "Open as popup" button to the clipboard history.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

v1.0.35 was an internal build; its changes are included in this entry.

v1.0.34

  • Improved

When starting a trial, you can now choose whether to receive tips and product news by email (optional, off by default, unsubscribe anytime).

v1.0.33

  • Improved

The clipboard history now keeps up to the latest 100 items on the free edition too (previously 5).

  • Improved

Moved the image editor's Undo / Redo / Reset-all buttons to the right edge of the toolbar for easier reach.

  • Fix

Fixed display and interaction issues around the clipboard popup and the image editor.

Updates from v1.0.30–1.0.32 are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.29

  • New

Manuals can now stamp page numbers and today's date at the bottom of every PDF / Word page — each with its own on/off toggle, position (left / center / right), and a choice of number formats.

  • New

Word (DOCX) export of manuals now follows the chosen template: two-column exports image-left / text-right, and grid exports two steps per row (previously always a single column).

  • New

While editing, you can now drag & drop an image file straight onto the canvas to overlay it (placed at the center; works on the editing board too).

  • New

The startup notice for new versions is now a clear centered dialog — update on the spot or choose "later".

  • Improved

Polished manuals overall (print/PDF margins, section dividers, work-in-progress retention, an "open save folder" button). On fresh installs, "launch at Windows startup" is now on by default — changeable anytime, and existing installs keep their choice.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

Updates from v1.0.21–1.0.28 are rolled into this version.

v1.0.20

  • New

Added in-app updates. When a new version is available the app quietly lets you know at startup, and you can apply it from Settings → Check for updates (install this version once manually and future updates arrive automatically).

  • Improved

Renamed the image-editor tool "目隠し" to "マスク" (mask) — a clearer umbrella name for blur, mosaic and fill.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and stability improvements (including cursor rendering in the image editor).

v1.0.18–1.0.19 were internal builds and are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.17

  • New

A license key activates on up to 3 devices; when you reach that limit, you can now release an unused device from the in-app list and activate the current one (Settings → Edition).

  • New

Added a corner-radius slider to shapes (rectangle, highlight, spotlight). At maximum the shape becomes a circle.

  • Fix

Minor bug fixes and overall stability improvements (including the very first capture right after startup).

v1.0.7–1.0.16 were rapid same-day updates and are consolidated into this version.

v1.0.6

Launch build
  • New

You can now open the purchase page from inside the app (Settings → Edition, and the Pro dialog in the editor).

  • Improved

When Pro expires or is deactivated, device sync and themes now return to the free-edition state automatically. Protections around license validation were also strengthened.

  • Fix

Fixed an issue where the very first capture after startup could grab a region different from the one you selected.

v1.0.1–1.0.5 were internal builds without a public release; their changes are included in this version.

v1.0.0

  • New

First public release of Capture Core, with a free download and a 14-day Pro trial available from inside the app.
